More Nokia X6 Review

Nokia X6 is the first device with capacitive screen of Nokia and it represents the truly high end in XM line. In this X6 we can see Nokia tries to make better their touchscreen and gives respond to user demands as well.

According to gsmarena.com screen sensitivity isnt the principal problem in touch screen device. Yes we know the resistive is better but its more about priority. However there is other issue needs to be solved by Nokia.

The problem seems to be in software. Competing in its class, Symbian S60 can not be said as theuser friendly and attractive OS.? Yes it has core functionality but for the budget, it is not the best choice. we know X6 is an expensive handset about 500 Euro, and for this price it is said that the flaw isnt forgiven.

Nokia X6 Short Review

Electricpig.jp has made review about Nokia X6. This short review has concluded the hate things and love things of X6. The bad things are its S60 OS that is not doing good on a touchscreen device and there is no autocorrect on its qwerty panel. The plus side in X6 are its music player and capacitive touchscreen.

X6 has the good toucscreen panel Espoo that responsive and no lag. Unfortunately, Nokia needs that long to make such a phone while Android and iPhone have stepped earlier.

The music player is sgood enough similar with that of iPhone. It is easy to access and the touchscreen supports your tunes skipping. The sound is good and it has 3.5mm jack on the top side for easily use.

But Symbian is not up to the touchcreen job. Maemo 5 looks better. You will find it laggy once you switch from landscape to portrait. The other problem is its small icons on main menu. The other is X6′s qwerty pad that is not only hard to use, but no auto correct found.

The X6 hard keys are quite hard to use as you need to wake them up through more effort. Of course it will be not good once you need the fast response and while on the go.

The bottom buttons look cheap and tacked on. There is nothing spectacular on its build quality.

Nokia X6 has made the appearance at Nokia World 2009. This first Xseries phone is in the Xpress Music line. Its 3.2? capacitive touchscreen will react to your finger, so you cant operate it using gloves. The build quality is not so impressive in this prototype. The screen is responsive but it is not the regular resistive touchscreen used by Nokia. The speaker is loud enough.

In this Nokia NX6 video, you will see how the kinetic scrolling will work in Contact, Gallery and Homescreen. Nokia X6 seems not to bring something new in the software aspect. However, it brings the improved hardware.

Nokia X6 Hands-on Video

September 23, 2009 · Filed Under Video · Comment

Another Nokia X6 Hands-on video by the folks at fonearena. Watch the video for the proof that Capacitive displays are so much finger friendly. You can also see that Nokia is inching closer to the iPhone?s screen in terms of responsiveness. Even Apple fanboys would appreciate the screen on the X6.

Nokia X6 is the most technologically advanced music-oriented handset of the manufacturer to date and sports 3.2-inch touch sensitive screen, 32GB built-in memory, 5-megapixel camera with double LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics, A-GPS, 3.5mm jack and battery that will allow 35hrs of continuous audio playback.
