As a smartphone, Nokia N900 was designed with several advance features. However, there are three applications to help optimize your N900 .

Shortcutd
This application helps you to make a shortcut on Nokia N900. For the example, camera button may be set to run different actions. It may help you to increase and optimize your N900. You also may use the proximity sensor. But, this is not recommended.

Tweakr
Another application is ready to help you optimizes your N900. It is called with Tweakr. The most interesting feature of Tweakr is “snap icon grid” setting. This setting is helping you to arrange the icon’s position.

Tweakr allows you to change the function of Power key. Usually, hitting the Power key once brings up the phone menu, and holding it down turns the phone off.

Phone Speakers Switcher
Phone Speakers Switcher is an application that allow you to activate the loudspeaker in several ways during a call. You may use your proximity sensor to activate the phone speaker, or maybe you want to activate the speaker via Camera key, or slide open the keyboard. A lot of fun, right?

Nokia N900 runs Android operating system? Yes! Nokia N900 is successfully hacked by some hackers. The hackers hacked it so it can runs the Android 2.2 Froyo. N900 follows iPhone’s track in platform that aren’t supposed to run Android.

This hacking activity is not totally successful yet. Several parts are still needing a reparation. There is a demonstration video leaked its performance with Froyo.

There are complains about Nokia N900 that this phone uses main interface most of them are in landscape view. And over the month Nokia has updated its firmware and added more and more portrait application. The new firmware PR 1.2 comes with a shortcut Ctrl+Shift+R to rotate a lot more application, though it is still buggy.
Now, there has been a released app for those who want full portrait. This very little package apps called rotatedaemon. I have done little testing to this application, I don?t know if there?s any bug or battery drain issues but seem it works fine.

The leakage about the Nokia S series was out last week, and the new name brings about changes that differs it from all Symbian based Nokia handsets. However, we want to think that MeeGo will be running on this S series handsets, but we don?t really know for sure. We will see about what S series has to offer.

S series arise last week from promotional pamphlet slide show. Showing all different Nokia series, this Mysterious S series made it first debut. The S series came in a strange order aside from other series, it was very noticeable that there something special about this handsets. It might be running on MeeGo since the S series was separated from the Symbian slide. It would be nice to have MeeGo on N900 rather than Maemo, like we expected, to experience a lot smarter OS than smart Open Source OS. Touch screen only MeeGo would be expected to appear on the Nokia S series, rather than just a thick QWERTY keypad handset. Nokia would be hardware virtually boundless on the flexible MeeGo.

A low end S Series handset would be an interesting to pan for ore. Nokia did it before with the Nokia 5228 Symbian based. It should happen to MeeGo handset, without having to pay a load to have the world in our hand, it will surely blast the market. Maybe there could be Nokia N8 match on MeeGo. Could it be more appealing?

Finally MeeGo has been available for Nokia N900 users. This operating system may not be available as the offiicial firmware. However, you can get MeeGo 1.0 that now is available for download. This OS can run well on Nokia N900 and other Atom-based netbooks. The upcoming version has been scheduled too, MeeGo v1.1. MeeGo will not be released as a commercial OS by the Finnish company.

Further more, the MeeGo 1.0 platform is developer oriented, while the user experience development will be started in June. There will be new version of MeeGo that scheduled every 6 months, so the coming new version (MeeGo 1.1) may be seen in October.

Maybe previously you had read about how to use Google Docs on Nokia N900. As you know it is a quite painful for navigating around and using it extensively. Although we had seen Documents To Go viewer in the last November, but there was no full Office upgrade for this app. Many hope the update like that of iPhone and Android will be there.

Fortunately, there is a post on DataViz blog, saying that N900′s Documents To Go Premium will be provided after 1.2 update. So that N900′s users will be able to get Office document creation and editing ability.

Finally Nokia E73 rumor has appeared. Nokia E73 is rumored to be launched in the next some weeks on T-Mobile US. At current time, there is no confirmation from T-Mobile or Nokia on this legit info. For those who waiting for the official version of E72, they will be excited with this.

Probably Nokia E73 supports WiFi calling. But this also can mean a Skype client or T-Mobile support of UMA technology. The other is that 3G is supported and the smartphone data plan is provided.

You may use Witter on your Nokia N900. Some days ago, this app had got its major update. The new version came from Daniel Would. In this new Witter version we can find the major update of user interface and functuionality. As has been asked before, the guy now has added a toggle so you can select more Tweets than previous version. Now the selected tweets can be 20, 59, 100 and 200 Tweets. Pretty nice..

There are so many functions now available that are presented through icons as the major user interface update.
