New Nokia N96 Firmware for North American
As we wrote before, Nokia has released new firmware with big updates for Nokia N96. Now the same firmware is also available for the NAM version (N96-3 NAM - RM-472). This new firmware allowing users in North America to update their beloved smartphone and consequently make the device more stable.
New Nokia N96 Firmware: Big Update!
Bad news, the current Nokia N96 firmware was reported have many bugs!. But the good news is, Nokia jus released new firmware for Nokia N96: Version v12.043. This version is available through the Nokia Software Updater or over-the-air. The size of the update is about 3MB over the air and about 120MB via the Nokia Software Updater. Nokia’s N78 Firmware Update, Again.
There’s nothing surprising when Nokia drive out another firmware update to one of its S60 handsets. This user-installable firmware update is said to be launched for European model before the North American model. No, this is not an ordinary post. There’s something different now, particularly in the way of distribution of the update. The company is finally taking advantage of S60’s over-the-air update capability, allowing users to nab the 2MB binary for the European variant of the N78 right over a WiFi or 3G connection (GPRS / EDGE too, we imagine, but that’d be pretty painful). Version 11.043 is said to imbue handsets with “improved stability with Bluetooth (headsets and car kits) and music (playback over a long time and content refresh)” alongside “optimized Camera performance and Naviscroll sensitivity improvements,” so we’d say it’s pretty much a no-brainer to grab — particularly since it doesn’t mean sitting down in front of the PC with a USB cable and an iron will.
