Nokia and Apple on patent infringements
Nokia has asked Apple about patent infringements. It is said by Nokia that Apple has infringed Nokia patents on UTMS, WLAN and GSM. Nokia has about 10,000 patent families. It looks Apple do nothing on patents licensing. Just for information that the patents are essential in industry standards. There are about 40 companies have been in license agreements with Nokia.
Vice President, Legal & Intellectual Property at Nokia, Ilkka Rahnasto has said that the companies contribute in technology development have created intellectual property in which the others should give compensate for. As for Apple, they are also expected to follow this rule. In current condition, which Apple has refused to agree on appropriate terms on Nokia’s intellectual property, it looks that Apple doesn’t do the right thing.
