N96, N85 And N79 Review

August 31, 2008 · Filed Under Review · Comment

Nokia makes a new break by hit the market with three different types of hands-on mobile devices which launched in the free market with hoping that this trio able to get the well aimed bricks for the new era of Nokia N-Series. But the problems start to occur when those three products is consider not able to impress the market even closer with E-series. It is because the only one N-series that is worth to be talk about is just the N85 which minimum unsatisfying features. Even though the N96 strength with the small screen size & 16 GB built in memory, the body of its mobile devices is too bulky and the N79 consider as a mobile devices with very terrible screen even though it has a fresh candy bar.

After realized the disadvantages of those N-series features, it seems that the N85 becoming the better series with the additional features of OLED screen and fabulous design which makes the other series like N96 looks like a rough draft than looks like a sibling. If we look for it through its interface side, the phones looks like a transition and new motion of the S60 which completed with the weird move by giving the Navi wheel scrolling in each series.

Nokia Bluetooth BH-703: A Comfort Design

June 21, 2008 · Filed Under Accessories, Review · Comment

Once again I want to express my gratitude for WOMworld that lend me the trial pre-sales version of BH-703 Bluetooth headset

Up until now I am using the Bluetooth Nokia BH-208. If we compared the size of the new BH-703 and my bluetooth, the BH-703 is longer and slimmer than mine. Another thing is the BH-703 has a minimalist design with a glossy black finish and silver/chrome outline that make this Bluetooth headset has a cool looks.

How Nokia Comes up with a Design

June 8, 2008 · Filed Under News, Review · Comment

After attending the first open-house of Nokia Design Center in Soho, London, 3g Week’s journalists have something to share with. According to them, Nokia’s designs always come from complicated processes: “We usually think of design as a process in which the properties of a physical object, such as the shape and size, are determined … [but] it is not that simple. Younghee Joung, Nokia’s Senior Design Manager, explained that cellphone design involves much more than just choosing and cutting the different components and then knitting them together.” (3 g Week)

Nokia N78 review

Well, is there any reason not to call it ‘sexy’ when everybody wants to ‘taste’ it? A full-fledged, unlocked 3.5G, Nokia brings out its new maps 2.0 app, along with photo geo-tagging; and of course all those N-series trimmings like WiFi and dual cameras. Although there’s no N-Gage support yet, a firmware update is forthcoming. Also, Nokia certainly has some interface kinks as troubleshooting devices for the new technologies.

Review Guardian v3 for S60

May 16, 2008 · Filed Under Applications, Freeware, Review, Software · Comment

guardian for Nokia S60

Guardian v3 software is basically meant to protect your phone from unauthorised usage, if it gets stolen or even otherwise. It has three different variants, a free basic version, Gold and Platinum version; naturally functionality keeps increasing with each higher version. For the purpose of this review I will be running the full blown Platinum

This software works by using GPS. Since GPS can virtually pinpoint our exact location on the map, how cool would it be if we could use the phone’s GPS remotely to track it anywhere in the world? This is exactly what Guardian does, it enables us to pin point our phone anywhere on the planet even if we have lost it.

Several days ago, from some sources, Nokia N78 assumed as impressive phone specially if compare it with my previous one, a Nokia 6230i. Which is included with wi-fi connectivity (with WEP keys), Bluetooth, camera (actually two, the ‘normal’ one in the back –Carl Zeiss, 3.2 MP– and a basic one in the front, for videocalls I guess), integrated speakers, USB connectivity, expansion card, MP3 player, web browser, maps and GPS, and many more.
