European manufacturer of carrier network equipment company Nokia Siemens Networks today announced the conclusion of two major contracts for the supply and installation of equipment. Under the two contracts with the operators of China Mobile and China Unicom, Nokia Siemens will receive a total of approximately 880 million euros or 1.1 billion dollars.
The communication company said that China Mobile and China Unicom have ordered for their networks, not only new equipment for 3G, but the services that operate in the networks of other operators in different countries.
Today’s deal was concluded as part of a package of agreements at a cost of 10 billion dollars by the group during the visit of Chinese government officials and businessmen in Germany. In China Unicom said that the new contract will help expand the network of third-generation, working in the standard WCDMA, in 11 Chinese provinces across the country. China Mobile will get the equipment and services for its GSM and TD-SCDMA network.
