
A study by Frost and Sullivan ends up with result that Nokia is the first choice of mobile GPS navigation amongst Russian and European. This study uses different navigation systems (ex. mobile phone, PND) and different available features (ex. voice guidance, 3D imagery, navigation and touch screen), location based services (ex. traffic information, pedestrian and car navigation and social networking) as well as any other telematics features.
According to the source, Europe and Russia have the growing market of GPS-enabled device. The survey is spread in Italy, Spain, Germany, France, UK and Benelux along with 600 interviews from Russia. The result is more than 70% of navigation system users in two countries vote Nokia for mobile navigation best branding. And more than 60% of the non user of navigation system in both countries considering Nokia as their choice.
Further more, Frost & Sullivan says that NAVTEQ acquisition by Nokia in 2008 makes Nokia has the good product portfolio for its venture to mobile navigation market. Nokia is also supported by its Ovi Maps for mobile and web service in this market. Based on this survey Nokia gets the Frost & Sullivan?s 2009 European & Russian Mobile Navigation Leading Brand Awareness Consumer Choice Award.
