At previous, we got the firmware update for N97. Some days ago the latest firmware update for Nokia N96 had been launched. That is reported by AllAboutSymbian which the newest firmware now comes to v 30.033 while the previous is v20.050.

There is User Data Preservation (UDP) in N96. It is always recommended for you to backup all data prior to firmware updating, so there will not any side effect on your data or program.

As usual, the user can choose either to download Over-The-Air (OTA) or via Nokia Software Update app in your PC. There is a possibility for you N96 not to detect the new firmware. It can happen because the new update has not yet reached the product code of your region. The other reason is maybe your N96 is the carrier branded one.

The official changelog has not yet been presented. We hope to get it soon. It seems that this update comes with speed improvements and bug fixes.

So do not wait any longer to update your N96 firmware update, guys.

I’ve found sometimes using the software updater on the nokia site the best way, they seem to release them online first then over the air. Does depend on the product code of your phone though (which can be changed with a little know how)
