About few weeks ago the? Nokia company is obliged to make reductions because of the difficult economic situation in the world. Company policy was that about 20-30% of workers from the Salo factory are being sent to a temporary leave for an indefinite period. Currently, Nokia is going to dismiss on a voluntary basis, about 1000 of its employees, thereby avoiding the mandatory reductions, as well as to send some workers in the short-term unpaid leave. Leadership had to go to such measures because the need to adapt to difficult market conditions.
The program is called the Voluntary Resignation Package, it will become effective from 1 March and will last until 1000 is not filed applications for dismissal, and the official closing scheduled for 31 May 2009.
