[...] Fanboy has been crunching the numbers to prepare a neat comparison between the N97 and the iPhone. No prizes for guessing which device came out on top, but it is interesting to see the stats [...]

But it isn’t just about functionality. I’ve used phones with better functionality than my iPhone but none of them were as enjoyable to use, or as intuitive. That counts for a lot, especially among mainstream (i.e. non-techie) phone users. You can’t just compare the specifications to decide which is better…

Available apps for each phone account for a great value, I don’t think N97 has much of it yet…

correct me if I’m wrong but USA aside, S60 os has a bigger base and have more apps than the iphone because it has been around longer too. check the stats.

i see that puremobile.com is having the N97 to come soon already. i was a little amused by that. i have never bought from puremobile.com but i have heard a few good things about it. wondering if i could get more info from here.

    thank you.

I use an iPhone (traded in my old Treo650). I like it, but I find I do not use it but to make calls, play a few games, and enjoy media (music and movies).

I’d rather have a great PIM and other software that I wanted to use.

The inability to multitask irritates me at this point. Before you yell “anti-apple” fanboy, note that I started my computer use with an Apple //e and currently use a mac laptop…

However great the UI (and it is nice), I want more power from my device. I want to write a program for it and not have to go through Apple to get it ON my device. That Apple has a store is great, and I see that it keeps lots of “trash” off of the device. Note that Apple is going for general non-tech marketshare rather than the tech-elite/aware…

I am looking forward to the N97 or the Palm Pre.

i surely iphone is much better than n97.no doubt, the n97′s camera is better, but it’s apple ‘s first time make phone. i use the iphone now,i really think 480×320 in 3.5inch screen is good enough(it’s not a tv,only a phone).long time ago,i thought the iphone was worse than nokia’s, but along with time goes on, iphone’s app comeing better and more than ever.
iphone’s graph of game, much better than n97;iphone’s web browser is the fastest(i use many phones:n95,n81,n73,…);and it’s operate system is more convenient than others;its design looks better than n97; and my iphone is unlock, when you use app,it can use MMS, have video recording, office files viewer,…..
somethings i don’t like iphone is unchangetable battery, the speaker(i like nokia’s)

  13. Steve on April 29th, 2009 10:26 am

Hey i checked the phone in puremobile and i was wondering @what price are they planning to market it…Just for my information please if anybody has a clue..

  14. dilin on May 3rd, 2009 9:44 am

Lotsa reason for my above prediction besides the fact that i saw the omen. The omen came in the form of info that the N97 carries a Single CPU, 434 MHz ARM11 when the N95 I have has Dual 332 MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 2420. A weak brain on such a powerfull phone makes it have more brawns than brains.

I have an apple iphone.. bought Nokia N97 recently.. N97 is so much better in everyway except for the touch action as its not as smooth as iphone’s but its not crap either.. its one of the best ive ever seen compared to navigating thru.. if comparing sony ericsson touch screen phones N97 is soooo much better..
All im saying is i like N97 and selling my iphone as i dont want it anymore..

  24. anthony on February 26th, 2010 12:31 am

i rather buy the iphone instead of the nokia n97 cuz the iphone is flatter and the nokia n97 is not really fast

Here are my impressions about Nokia N97 phone:-

The Nokia N97is a trusty reliable phone. Using it for a while now and it is still in really good condition. When it come to pictures we certainly find it in high quality .This phone is a TRUE smart phone OS which means you can download apps for it such as VPN software to connect to your office network
To sum up , all in all this handset offers everything one expects from his/her cell phone.
