When you delete your files from your computer, all are removed to recycle bin, and actually the data is physically on the hard drive. It means, this data can now be overwritten with new data. Even though Windows shows they are gone and corrects the storage allocations accordingly they are still there until the data gets overwritten. This is the reason files can be recovered even after you have deleted them from your computer.
It also happens to your mobile phones but they don?t actually stay last forever on the phone. They got over written or removed by the system. Or maybe If your fingers uncontrolled and deleting your files or SMS ?accidentally, don?t worry, we give you some steps how to make your deleted SMS back to your mobile phones.
Procedure:
- Open Fexplorer(http://www.gosymbian.com/FE_download.html)
- Select drive C (phone memory): or D (memory card): depending on the memory in which the SMS messages have been saved.
- For example u selected C: Then open “system” folder.
- Then in “system” folder open “mail” folder.
- In this folder u will see different folders (e.g. 0010001_s) and certain files (e.g. 00100000). These files are the actual messages. Browse through every folder and open all files till u get the SMS u are looking for.
- For opening the files don’t choose options>file>open as it will show format not supported rather choose options>file>hex/text viewer. By selecting the “Hex/ text viewer” you will be able to open and read the deleted SMS message.

My 5800 has been turning itself off for while. Yesterday, it did this again but all my mesages including folders going back a couple of years deleted themselves.
I upgraded the firmware (as this has fixed the turning off issue in the past with my old N95).
I then tried to restore the messages from my backup (which I know has the folders I want) but after restoring the phone restarts and the messages are not there.
I can’t even download the fecplorer as when you click on download, the phone just displays a load of ASCII characters!
If anyone has an alternative that actually works, please post it!
Thanks
