Freeware: Jbak Task Manager

Jbak Taskman is a free S60 task manager application. Even though the previous, Best Taskman is good, but this latest version is better. It changed the way you control your Nokia.

Enjoy this application by taking some times to setting and customize many things in it. You don’t have to use S60 anymore!

Task Manager
In these open applications on the left side, you can scroll through any of those and bring them to the forefront or minimize them and back to the standby screen while everything is still running in the background. If you have certain applications that you often open like Contacts, Call log, etc you can choose to hide those from your task list. It helps to rid of the clutter.

Shortcuts
On the right side is a list of assigned shortcuts. Each one is given a number that refers to the numbers on your keypad. They can be changed and re-arranged. You can also make shortcuts to documents, apps & docs, and selected tasks make shortcuts to documents, apps & docs, and selected tasks. From here you can the first shortcut is the Menu, and it leads you to the S60 menu.

If you need a shortcut when you have the menu button on the phone, you can change the menu button under the Jbak settings which was has plenty of options, to take you to the screenshot above instead of the root S60. You could have elected to make it a long-press of the Menu button. When you need to get to S60 Menu, just push 1 after the menu button. Very easy! Here is this set up in Jbak go Menu (left softkey) > Settings > Key Menu Settings > In System Keypress > Main Window. Find the other options for the Menu Key settings.

Application Launcher
Another great feature is the Application Launcher. If you already have Jbak, you can simply press pound and start typing the name of the application or task that you want. Another thing is the screenshot below shows what shows what you’re looking for the application. ”VibrateCall You can see all applications with the word “call” is shown. If you don’t like to use it, you can always go to S60 Menu and find your application

Extra Features
On top of the application you can see the memory status of all your drives. The 1st tells you the RAM, 2nd is phone memory, and 3rd is memory card. You can also elect to show the time at the bottom of the screen.

When you have an application highlighted you can push Menu and view the Task Info to give you details of where it’s stored and how much Ram the program is using.

Under the Tools option you can see processes, threads, chunks, etc that gives you more details of what’s going on with your phone. Mostly, it’s rare to be used, but in here you also lock your keypad and reboot your phone. It isn’t just turn off or turns on manually your phone, but this stuff will do the whole process.

Under the Settings option, you’ll find plethora of things you ask Jbak to do.
