Sexy Nokia N78 Hands On

Nokia N78 review

Well, is there any reason not to call it ‘sexy’ when everybody wants to ‘taste’ it? A full-fledged, unlocked 3.5G, Nokia brings out its new maps 2.0 app, along with photo geo-tagging; and of course all those N-series trimmings like WiFi and dual cameras. Although there’s no N-Gage support yet, a firmware update is forthcoming. Also, Nokia certainly has some interface kinks as troubleshooting devices for the new technologies.

Maps 2.0 in the Nokia N78 can track our walk down the block with good accuracy, which is almost ‘creepy’. The keypad is a bit of a departure for Nokia, with ridges instead of full keys, but it didn’t take long for us to get comfortable with. Nokia’s sporadic software support and its generally high-end nature have made even the Nokia’s touch sensitive “Navi wheel” on the d-pad less impressive. The overall build of the device is classic Nokia, light but not too light, certainly not too thin but quite comfortable to use and pocket. You’ll have no problem reading the screen in direct sunlight, and it’s bright indoors as well.
